1/22/16 – 2/2/16                      Fort Myers Beach and Naples

1/22/16 – 1/30/16                    Fort Myers Beach (continued)

The new bikes are great. They are foldable and they both have electric too. I have not been using the power most of the time, but it is wonderful for longer trips. Hopefully these won’t rust since we’ll be able to keep them inside the boat. My old one was so rusted I couldn’t even turn the wheel.

We ate numerous meals at the little strip mall in front of the marina. We almost became regulars at Castaways.

We also attended a Concert hosted by the Friends of the Arts and held in one of the enclosed marina high and dry’s. They had another one the following week and I enjoyed that one from the back deck of the boat.

Dave and Kelly from Adventure II met us for dinner one night and we had a great time seeing them again. We enjoyed the experience at Snook bite Marina’s Restaurant.

We actually had a lot of cold (50’s), windy and wet weather. We sat at the pier through three tornado warnings in 3 days. Two of them actually hit in nearby areas. Thank God they bypassed us.

We visited downtown Fort Myers Beach. This is a really cute area with lots of shops and eateries. It is adjacent to the large public beach on the northern point of the island. I got a couple of pictures of the clipper ship from the beach.

We did get to do some other restaurants with Denny and Chyrl in some of the closer towns like Bonita Springs and Naples. It was fun running all over the place with wonderful chauffeurs and friends.

1/31/16 – 2/2/16          Naples

The weather is finally starting to get back to normal, at least that’s what they say. We’re in the high 70’s and low 80’s and wearing shorts again. Yeah!

We continued down the Gulf of Mexico to the Naples Boat Club.  The houses along the way just kept getting bigger and bigger. Check these out!

And we looked like the little lost orphan once we got to the dock. I’d say the average length was somewhere around 70 ft.

We rode the bikes everywhere. This complex was just south of us. We actually ate dinner at the Boathouse.

5th Avenue is the place to see and be seen. We went there on our first night and had dinner at the Aqua  Restaurant and had a lovely meal.

We also visited Tin City and ate a Lunch at Pinchers and a dinner at Riverwalk Restaurant. Tin City is a series of buildings and shops that are actually all indoors, but the restaurants  have deck seating on the water.

Check out this plaza right of the water.

Check back next week to see our next adventures. And enjoy the Super Bowl!
