2/22/16
– 2/25/16 North Miami – Nettles
Island
Firstly,
I would like to apologize for the lateness of this posting. I had originally
planned to include our stay in Fort Pierce, but we are still in Fort Pierce
with a major problem. We are working on getting our fuel take repaired or
replaced.
2/22/16
– 2/23/16 North Miami Beach
This
trip was also up the Eastern Intracoastal. We traveled through Biscayne Bay
which is a large body of water, and opens into the Atlantic.

These
shots are as we approached Miami and Miami Beach, and entered the Port of
Miami.

This
is still Biscayne Bay and it is actually still quite wide in some sections.
Here are some pictures of Miami.
These
are Miami Beach.
And
these are of an island in the bay that people anchor and swim.
And
finally our destination, Bill Bird Marina
Check out the sand bar outside the marina. |
We
made a trip by bike over to the actual beach.

Lantana
Lantana
is actually an area on the inland side of the Intracoastal across from South Palm
Beach. We were unable to get into a marina in Palm Beach. Again these marinas
are all quite full since the weather has not been good for the trip over to the
Bahamas.
On
our way up we passed numerous beaches. Here are some pictures along the way.
This
is Hollywood Beach
This
is Fort Lauderdale. And the yachts are huge.
This
is our destination, Loggerhead Marina in Lantana. We tied up, had dinner at
their restaurant and called it a night.
Here
is the famous “Mar-a-Lago” on Palm Beach. This was originally owned by Marjorie Merriweather Post and is now
owned by Donald Trump.

Palm Beach photos.
3/25/16 Nettles Island
Nettles
Island is actually an island attached to Jenson Beach. This was another 50+
mile trip, so we passed a lot of Florida Beaches. Here are some pics along the
way:

Again
we tied up for the night and were out again the next day headed for Fort Pierce.
I
will post our Fort Pierce stay next week. And by then should be able to let you
know when to expect another posting. We could be here for a while longer.
Wishing I was in sunny Miami! Hope you get to the Bahamas!
