De Grace, MD
4/28/16 – 5/12/16 To Havre De Grace, MD
We left
Myrtle Beach on 4/28/16 to start our second year of boating. We took our time
coming up to Havre De Grace.
4/28/16 Carolina Beach
We spent our first night on a mooring ball |
4/29/16 Morehead
City, NC.
On our
second day of travels we went Ocean bound for our 86 mile trip. It was a very
cloudy and misty day and we wound up going through some Navy maneuvers. It was
really cool! Ken was contacted by two Aircraft Carriers to determine our
intentions and to warn us we needed to maintain a 2 mile distance from them. We
were only about 1 ½ miles away when they contacted us. There was also an amphibious
assault ship with a helicopter and a landing vessel. Both of which buzzed by us
to check us out.
5/1/16
– 5/2/16 Bellhaven, NC
We stayed at the River Forest Marina and had dinner at our favorite restaurant “Tavern at Jack’s Neck”. |
5/2/16 Coinjock,
NC
We spent the night at Coinjock Marina.
|
5/4/16-
5/5/16 Kilmarnock, VA
We stayed at the Chesapeake Boat Basin. They had a loner car and we were able to do some shopping.
We
stayed 3 days in Solomon’s Island and road our bikes everywhere. We stayed at
Zahniser’s Yachting Center again.
5/9/16
– 5/10/16 Oxford, MD
Our
next stop was Brewer Oxford Marina. This was a very historic and sleepy little
town with it’s own little car ferry.
5/11/16 Bay Bridge Marina
We
stopped here to check out Hemingway’s Restaurant.
It was very nice!
It was really a good thing we were stopping for the night,
since the weather was getting very foggy.
5/12/16 - Havre De Grace, MD
We pulled into Log Pond Marina in Havre de Grace. This is a very neat little town that is building up its waterfront appeal. There are lots of restaurants and a fair number of shops.
We
will be staying here until our new grandchild arrives. She is due to make her
appearance on June 19th. We
have already been to a wonderful cook-out at my son’s with the rest of our
family which we have really missed. We look forward to hearing from and meeting
up with our friends while we are here.
The
next post will probably not be until mid July.
Wait, I missed these. I slipped - what can I say LOL. It was great seeing you and Ken - looking forward to more pics once you get on your way. Safe travels. Love ya!
