7/27/16 – 8/18/16        Back to Baltimore

7/27/16 – 7/28/16        Brewerton cont’d

Well good news, there was no fuel leaking into the oil. So Ken replaced the primer pump and did another oil change and things seem to be OK. So we decided it was time to head for Baltimore.

7/29/16                                    Ilion, NY

The boat ran great! That was a really big relief. We got a little bit of a shower on our way through Sylvan Beach.

7/30/16 -7/31/16          St. Johnsville, NY

This was a very small town, but it had some interesting scenery.

8/1/16 – 8/2/16                        Scotia, NY

This was a great stop. We stayed at the municipal pier, which was adjacent to a wonderful park. The city itself was not real touristy, so it was quite nice.

We were able to enjoy their weekly free water ski show right from the boat.

8/3/16                          Waterford, NY

This is the end of the Erie Canal. We actually have one more lock tomorrow on the Hudson in Troy NY and then we won’t have another until we get to Virginia.

Check out this French boat that was on the wall behind us. And this other one from Canada also.

We didn’t get to see this barge go all the way into the lock, but I thought it was a good picture.

8/4/16                          Catskill, NY

This was the beginning of our trip down the Hudson.
It took us past Albany.

Our destination was Riverview Marina once again. This is a really cute little port.

8/5/16                          Poughkeepsie NY

This as a quick stopover since Ken had been watching the ocean weather forecast. It looks like we may have a 3 day window coming to go ocean bound from New York to the Delaware Bay.

We had a great dinner at the Shadows restaurant.

8/6/16                          Croton on Hudson, NY

Here are some of the sights heading down the Hudson. Our destination once again was Half Moon Bay.

8/7/16                          Atlantic Highlands, NJ

Today’s trip takes us down the lower Hudson River and through the Harbor. Below are some shots of coming into New York City from the north.

This was a Sunday and the tourists were out in the harbor. It gets very crazy going through here. There are boats everywhere going in every direction.

And of course, the Statue of Liberty!

We had a quick dinner and an early night.

8/8/16                          Atlantic City

The weather window held so this was a 95 mile Ocean trip around Sandy Hook and down the Atlantic. We got a very early start and had a wonderful cruise.

We had company coming into Atlantic City.

8/9/16                          Cape May NJ

This was another Ocean trip, but only 44 miles. Here are some shots along the way.

Atlantic City Pier

We stayed at Utsch’s Marina again. Had a very nice dinner at the Lobster House and turned in early again.

8/10//16                       Chesapeake City, MD

This was a 73 mile trip up the Delaware River/Bay and then down the C & D Canal. The Delaware River can often be very rough, but again the weather was good, so it was a nice ride.

There’s lots of big traffic on the Delaware.

This is coming into Chesapeake City and our destination, Schaeffer’s Canal House, where we had a wonderful dinner.

8/11/16 – 8/17/16        Baltimore Inner Harbor, MD

This 53 mile trip took us down the remainder of the C & D Canal and then down the Chesapeake Bay to the Patapsco River.

This is probably the last time we will see the Carroll Island Power Plant from the water. For many years this was our guide into our home on Seneca Creek.

Here we are heading under the Key Bridge heading into the Baltimore Harbor. Our destination and home until Sept 12 is the Anchorage Marina on Boston Street.

From here we will be heading to Myrtle Beach, SC where we plan to find a nice condo and settle down on land.

Please get in touch and come see us before we leave.

Check back in October for our last posting.

Congratulations!!!
