4/21/15 to 5/1/15 Chesapeake Va. to Crisfield
Our next stop was in Chesapeake Virginia. This is new spot
and the deal was not to be missed. Firstly fuel was over $.30 cheaper than
anywhere along the ICW (Intracoastal Waterway). Then they offered free docking
and electric if you dined at their Amber Lantern Restaurant and spent over $75.
Since average dockage is $66, that
became a no brainer. To top that off the meals were excellent and the desert was to die for. We shared a Chocolate Lava
Cake with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. Everything was so good we stayed a second night
and had another dinner with free dockage. These are our last nights on the ICW.
4/23/15 – 4/24/15
Now we‘re back in the Chesapeake Bay. Our first stop was in
Hampton, Va to visit our friends who also wintered at Myrtle Beach Yacht Club. Doc
and Donna took us to a very nice little restaurant on the bay. It was really
fun getting together with them again.
We have actually made a big mistake. We headed up too early.
We have had to pull out the jeans and long sleeves. We should have waited
longer to head up. We have decided to slow this down and hope the warm weather
catches back up with us.
4/25/15 – 5/1/15
So we then headed to Crisfield, Md. We are staying at the
Somers Cove Marina. This place is huge. See picture below. There is a large
playground and pool (still closed).
The town and waterfront have numerous restaurants and
Museums. Unfortunately, a lot of places are not opened yet because it is still
out of season here. We have ridden our
bikes everywhere, so we are getting lots of exercise to keep the pounds off.
We will be leaving here tomorrow (Sat. May 2) bright and
early heading for Solomon’s Island.
Hi (It's Dani !) and I've been following your blog since the beginning! I love it - and I love the pictures. I want to go to all these places!!!
