6/25/15 7/1/15             Cape May, NJ., Atlantic City, NJ., Sandy Hook, NJ. Through New York City

6/25/15 - 6/28/15         Cape May NJ.

We ran through the remainder of the C & D Canal and then across the Delaware River and Delaware Bay heading for Cape May. We passed a couple of tall ships on their way into Philadelphia. We also saw the Cape May Lewes Ferry pull out for a trip to Delaware.

Our destination was the Utsch’s Marina in Cape May Harbor. We stayed 3 days waiting for the weather to be calm enough to make the ocean trip to our next port of call. This gave us time to check out the city.

Cape May is famous for its Victorian architecture and it can be found throughout the city. Below are a few examples we found along the beach front.

They closed off about 4 blocks of Washington Street and have created a really cute outdoor mall. It has lots and lots of cute little chops and restaurants.

And what visit to Cape May would be complete without pictures of the beach and of course their outstanding lighthouse.

6/29/15            Atlantic City

We finally got a day with calm winds and our trip up to Atlantic City was pretty smooth. I took lots of pictures of Atlantic City from the ocean since it just keeps going on and on.

We actually went up past the ocean front Atlantic City and into the Absecon Inlet. We stayed at the Golden Nugget Casino Marina. There are numerous casino’s around this inlet. It is almost like its own little city.

6/30/15                        Sandy Hook

The weather was good again so we were up and out early to do our last ocean leg. Our approach to Sandy Hook gave us our first hazy look at the skyline of New York.

Our destination was the Atlantic Highlands Marina.  We took time for dinner and made an early night of it since we wanted to get an early start again on Wednesday.

Here we are being passed by the ferry between Atlantic Highlands and New York City. Those boats waste no time.

7/1/15              New York from the Hudson River

New York City was not a destination for us, but the trip up the Hudson through New York City definitely did not lack the interesting.

The bridge into New York Harbor and the skyline of New York still appeared hazy as we entered the harbor.

The harbor itself is very busy.

It took us a while and a lot of careful navigating to get to the lady herself.

With no tour guide, I just shot pictures of whatever caught my eye. So here are a bunch of pictures and most have captions. I cannot guarantee the accuracy of them.
