7/1/15 – 7/10/15          Croton on Hudson, Catskill and Waterford NY

7/1/15 – 7/7/15                        Half Moon Bay in Croton on Hudson

We pulled into Half Moon Bay on 7/1 and decided to stay a week. We needed to get some prescriptions filled and the Erie Canal locks were closed due to flooding. It was an enjoyable week. The town had some great little restaurants.

We rented a car so that we could get our errands done, so we also did some touring of the area. We found a wonderful restaurant called Traveler’s Rest in the town of Millwood. The décor was gorgeous old wood and the gardens were beautiful.

Check out the Suit of armor over Ken's shoulder.

And this is the bar!

This is the dining room

We also got a chance to take the train into New York City to visit my son Matt and have lunch with him.

PS… There are train tracks running right along the Hudson River both left and right.

7/8/15              Catskill – River View Marine Services

We continued our trip up the Hudson and as before I took a lot of pictures. We passed West Point.

Here are some others that I found interesting. I’ve identified those that I can.

Stony Point Nuclear Power plant

More of the cities farther north actually have waterfront properties.
Whatever Shadows is, it looks pretty neat.

Check out the tall ship

Gorgeous Mansion up on a hill.

This upper area of the Hudson has some awesome lighthouses. I had to share some of these too.

We put in for the night at River View Marine in Catskill, NY.

There was a lovely little park right on the point. And a great restaurant just a block away.

 7/9/15 – 7/10/15          Waterford NY

The last leg of our trip up the Hudson had more sights to share.

Another tall ship

This is a little cruise ship that takes folks through the canal.

We also ran through some pretty big towns.  The below shots are of Albany, NY.

The next group are from Troy, NY

And leaving Troy we went through our first lock. This lock lifted us 17 feet.

And here we are now in Waterford, NY. Tomorrow we will start our trip through the Erie Canal. There is construction work going on bridge, but we can still get under it.
